Tonight I made an attempt at a meat tomato sauce. I had a lot of hamburger and used Hunt’s diced tomatoes and Hunt’s sauce as the foundation with some onions and garlic. It seemed to take forever to cook but that is probably because I was really hungry. It turned out really well. I made a lot of extra so I will be eating it for a while.
This is the blanket I made over the weekend. It crocheted up really fast. The pattern and yarn are from Lion Brand called Spa Garden Ripple Afghan (http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/L20635.html). I used the suggested Lion Brand Thick & Quick yarn. It is really soft and really warm.
This is The Boo pattern from Mochimochi Land (http://mochimochiland.com/shop/boo-pattern/). It is a really quick knit and I made her in a night. I haven’t added the button that the pattern has yet and I am thinking of making another one trying out the other wing pattern. I am really bad at embroidering so my attempt at the teeth turned into a side quirky smile and will stay that way. I really like the loops for the feet and I currently have her hanging off a shelf above my bed.
Tonight I made for myself quite a meal. I have home made egg pasta topped with home made vodka sauce with breaded sautéed chicken. It was a good way to unwind for the day and even more fun to eat. With so much going on in the kitchen I didn’t pay as close to the chicken as I should have so it is a little tougher than I can usually make.
This is my delicious pita bread with mac and cheese and tomato sauce. Sounds a little strange but I needed to use up my pita bread and tomato sauce. It turned out very well.
This is the wonderful hat I made for my boy friend for Valentine’s Day. The pattern I used was called Greer (http://us.schachenmayr.com/patterns/greer) which I altered a little bit. I wanted to add in the forth color along with change the top a little bit. I ended up doing the top three times. First I tried following the patter which was just 2 rows of k2tog and then tried a little less aggressive method of decreasing. Since decreasing the hat that fast made it fit a lot smaller I had to take it out again to I could decrease 8 times a round with a row of straight knits so that it would fit on my boy friend’s head.
I personally love the colors but no one else I have shown has really shown any enthusiasm for the hat so maybe one of you will enjoy it! I am an obnoxious person and sometimes like obnoxious colors! The yarn was the same suggested in the Greer pattern, Boston by Schachenmayr (http://us.schachenmayr.com/yarns/boston).
